How to choose the right dog carrier backpack
- Dog weight: Check the weight guide first. The backpack dog carrier suits dogs up to 9.5 kg, while the dog travel backpack comes in four sizes from S for 1 to 5 kg to XL for 15 to 28 kg.
- Carrying style: A front carrier keeps a tiny dog close to your chest where you can see it, while a classic backpack spreads the load on your back for longer walks. The front backpack dog carrier starts at size S for dogs of about 1 to 2.5 kg.
- Ventilation: Breathable mesh panels, as on the small dog backpack carrier and the dog carrying backpack, keep air moving on warm days.
- Head opening: Some models, like the dog carry backpack and the backpack to carry dog, have a flexible neck opening so your dog can look out safely.
- Safety and comfort for you: Look for padded shoulder straps, sturdy zippers and an inner leash hook that stops your dog from jumping out.
- Season: For cold weather, the fleece lined dog carrier backpacks model is warm, windproof and rainproof.
Sizing and fit
Weigh your dog and measure body length from the neck to the base of the tail, plus height while sitting. Compare these numbers with the weight guide and dimensions on each product page, such as the 35 x 20 x 36 cm small dog backpack carrier. If your dog is between two sizes, choose the larger one so your dog can sit and turn comfortably, and make sure the total load stays comfortable for your own back.

Dog carrier backpack FAQ
What size dog can go in a carrier backpack?
Most dog carrier backpacks are made for small dogs, and each model lists its own weight limit. In this collection, weight guides range from about 1 kg for the smallest front carrier to 28 kg for the largest travel backpack size. Choose a size where your dog can sit or lie down without being cramped.
How do I get my dog used to a carrier backpack?
Leave the open backpack on the floor with a familiar blanket and a few treats inside so your dog explores it freely. Then close it for short moments at home, lift it gently and take short walks before any long trip. Always attach the inner leash hook to a harness, not a collar.
How long can a dog stay in a carrier backpack?
Plan regular breaks so your dog can stretch, drink and relieve itself, especially on hot days. Watch for panting, restlessness or whining, which mean your dog needs to come out. Puppies, seniors and flat faced breeds need shorter sessions.
When will my dog carrier backpack arrive?
Delivery times depend on your location. All current information on processing and delivery is listed in our shipping policy, so you can plan ahead of a trip.
